Hey everybody! Hope your thanksgiving was good. It's just about that time for christmas music :O I don't know about you, but doesn't it a seem a little early. Busch Gardens Europe in Williamsburg Virginia just opened for their second annual Christmas town. It's really neat, you get to walk through all the different countries and see what Christmas would be like there. It's everything BG is over the summer, but all the decorations are changed for Christmas time, it's so pretty and I definitely recommend going, or trying another theme park Christmas event. What do you normally go to get ready for Christmas?

So i know a couple of you asked when school would finally be starting for me. It was canceled the first day because of hurricane Irene. We ended up going in the next day the 30th. It was a little confusing, but i'm officially a senior. I feel so old. I don't have any pics for you this week, I ended up getting a new laptop and have been way to busy to upload old pics or take new ones, i'm sorry bloggy buddies :0 Hopefully posting some this week :)

We were recently hit with hurricane Irene. It didn't seem that bad to me, we lost power for 2 hours early on but other than that no real damage around our house. Heard there were huge trees downed farther up the road. The first day of school was supposed to be tomorrow... that got changed :O Did the hurricane do any damage to you?

I'm sure most of you heard about or maybe even felt the east coast earthquake yesterday (8/23/11). We definitely felt it here. At first we thought it was really strong wind. Then we looked out the window and it was calm as could be. Then it happened again about 20 to 30 seconds after the first shaking. I coulda sworn the house was about to collapse. After running to the basement, then realizing what it really was, we ran outside still not totally sure what was going on. Our neighbors were all outside, so we figured out it was definitely an earthquake. After waiting around outside for a while, we went back inside and checked for damage. None with us, but I know some neighbors had a lot of damage. While checking the water heater in the basement, my mom found a snake! Eeek! I HATE snakes! Had the neighbor remove it for us. Did any of you feel the earth quake? What were your experiences?

Summer Vacation (:

We haven't been much of anywhere this summer because of our big Florida vacation in May. School starts back up on the 29th (ick) so we're taking a bit of vacation now before that happens. We left Sunday morning for church and continued from there to my grandpas in VA beach. Then Tuesday morning we left VA for North Carolina. Made some stops along the coast and spent the night in Cape Hatteras. Now we're with family near Wilmington until tomorrow when we go back to VA for a couple days. Here are some pictures from the drive down here I'll have more for you later.

Crazy 88

Back in July I started taking Muay Thai and Jiu Jitsu classes at a studio called crazy 88. Mom was a little unsure with the name and all, but hey they had a free 30 day trial. I started taking a women only Muay Thai class with my best friend. I really liked it, it's a good work out and a lot of fun to get aggression out. Muay Thai is kind of like mixed martial arts, there's a lot of moves with elbows, punches, blocks, etc. It's a lot to learn and i'm still not very good but it's a lot of fun and I always leave feeling like I got some good exercise in. Now I've only gone to 3 jiu jitsu classes. I take one class a week and i'm really loving this class. It's mainly wrestling and I always leave this class feeling like I accomplished something, probably because I actually get to spar and pin people though mostly I'm trying to unpin myself, hopefully I'll get a lot better. If you're looking for a fun way to get some exercise or even just self defense I'd definitely recommend getting involved with martial arts in one way or another. If you leave near the Baltimore area i'd also definitely recommend Crazy 88. The people are really friendly and helpful. (: I don't have any pictures yet but i'll try to get some soon

Last week my parents took me and my bestest buddy Feather up to Delaware. Why? Well to go to the Delaware state fair. There's just something about a good fair. That's not the only reason we went though. One of my favorite bands, Three Days Grace, was performing so of course while my parents spent some time on the Ferris Wheel and goofing off as old people do for 3 hours. On Wednesday school let out for the summer, so my best friend and I decided to take a walk which turned into an adventure. We walked along the train tracks. We passed a few hobo camps (shh don't tell my mom), went to a really pretty creek, and even ended up at the local train station a 10 minute drive away. I love my bestest buddy Heather :)

Grr! My school county has got to get with the picture. This year we did not get out of school until June 22nd!! It was horrible. But I am now technically and finally a SENIOR! :D So while school has been over since Wednesday afternoon, I say my summer officially starts today. I played in my private teachers cello recital. I feel like I did decently and now I can officially look forward to lazy carefree summer days and fun! Hello Summer 2011! Glad you could drop by!

So I posted a few pictures from our Florida discovery cove trip. It was amazing and I definitely recommend visiting, whether you have kids or not. Food and beverages (non alcoholic) is free once you enter the park. They provide a packet of sun screen (panama jack) that is animal safe. The only thing that isn't included is souvenirs and alcoholic beverages (I think beer was free if you're into that). Sadly, the pictures I posted were the ones we bought from the park, because my waterproof camera died in the snorkeling cove. The seal on the usb port broke and I didn't realize it. Some water leaked in and it stopped working, and I did not have my good camera with me so I don't have many pictures from the trip. I guess it's time to look for another water camera.. Here's some of the few pictures I did manage to get before my camera broke.

Discovery Cove

This past weekend my parents and I took a neat trip to Orlando, Florida. If you have never been there, it is a great place for a family vacation. My first post will be out Discovery Cove. It is a water park, but it doesn't have slides, or a wave pool. It has something much neater. It has animals. No, it's not like a zoo. At a zoo you just get to look at the animals. At discovery cove they have dolphins, and sting rays. They have birds, and fish, and ant eaters, and armadillos. This is a cool place to go if you want to get up close and personal with the animals. My favorite part was swimming with the dolphins. Here's some pictures.

Last night was my prom and afterprom. The prom theme was a night in paris. It was so special for me because I was able to attend with my boyfriend of 2 years and seven months. That's kind of a big deal for me :D We had an amazing time. I recently heard about a school in Georgia that was in major need of some help to keep their prom going because of storms, etc. I was not able to help, but my prom was so special, and I seriously hope these juniors and seniors were able to have their special night to remember. Please keep these students, and everyone else effected by the storms in your prayers.

I made a newyears resolution to post at least once a week.. that has not been working out. I've been so busy with school and church and friends. I will work on posting some new pictures soon. For now I will post about my trip to Boston Mass. I went with orchestra and band from my high school for a competition. We visited salem and learned all about the witch trials. We also went to Harvard and to the JFK library. Our school did very well in our performances. My orchestra got first place gold, while the lower orchestra got 2nd place silver. Our other groups got either first or second place and we even got 4 overall trophies :) Congrats Howard!

Very happy for my best friend Heather tonight :) I'm not gonna go into extreme detail because she'll probably read this post at some point and kill me. But I was at her house tonight and her crush was texting her saying he had a question he wanted to ask her last night but he couldn't because her cousin was there and he didn't wanna ask it in text message, he wanted it to be in person. So he texts me telling me he's driving to her house but not to tell her. He shows up tells her to come outside and asks her to be his girlfriend. He's the old fashioned type, doesn't wanna do anything to make her mom hate him, even came in on their last date and thanked her mom for letting him take her out. Congratz Heather and Ray! :)

Now that's a name that brings a smile to most of the strings kids faces in my school. Most of my bloggy buddies know that I've been playing cello since I was 8 and i'm 16 now. It doesn't feel that long though. I started in school when I was in third grade. My cello was taller than I was! My school teacher who really taught me most of what I know was Ms. Lawrence. She was my teacher from 3rd to 8th grade. I really miss her now that i'm a junior in high school. She just had one of those fun but caring personalities and she always had good instrument advice. Last night I decided to get up off my but and go to the middle school band/orchestra concert. I missed those events and it was so much different than performing. It was all holiday music compared to the boring music played in high school. Afterwards, I had to go hunt down Ms. L. She was surprised to see me and gave me a hug. It's times like these that makes me wish I could back in time. Back to when Orchestra was a class I really looked forward too. I love playing, but my current conductor takes the fun out of music. If you're reading this Ms. Lawrence, thanks for being an awesome conductor and really inspiring me to keep playing!

The Dueling Fiddlers

Who are the dueling fiddlers you might ask. They are two men, Rustle and Adam, who play violin. They don't play traditional classical music. They play much more than that. For the longest time they were involved with the traditional classical groups. They then realized that that wasn't what a majority of the people wanted. If you were to walk into a room (as they did today) and say Bach, you would get blank stares, but if you were to walk in and say tick tock by Ke$ha or good riddance by green day, you would get some laughter and smiles. Today they visited my orchestra class and boy was I surprised. I figured it would be two old nerdy dudes playing random classical music trying to out do the other, but boy was I wrong. They take modern number one hits and turn it into something amazing. To fully understand you will really just have to see them play, so i'm including a video. What are your MP3 preferences, or do you tend to go "old school" and stick to the radio or cd player. I personally like the ipod. I just upgraded from my nano to a touch and I definitely recommend it. You have total control, what kind of apps you want, the music. You can get internet and video call people. It's amazing. So like I asked before, what music player to you prefer?

So as most of you know, I am a junior in high school. This requires me to take world history, and for some reason we're learning about religion. It baffles me as to some of the crap my teachers are trying to shove down my throats. I have no problem learning about the religions, but I wish that this teacher would get her facts straight instead of try to tell me the opposite of something that I already know. One of the many issues with being in high school I guess. Old enough for responsibility, but not quit freedom, or being taught the truth instead of what the school system wants you to think. >:(

Those time travel experience

Have you ever had that feeling where you could be in another decade? You could be doing something, watching tv, or just plain sitting there and you feel like it's not 2010 anymore. On Friday night I went to a youth house my friends church holds every friday night. It's a good way to keep the kids in middle and high school off the streets on fridays and out of trouble. They feed us dinner then we just hang out for 3 hours and it actually can be really fun. Now I was born in the 90's so I have only experienced that and our current decade. But on Friday I sat on beanbag chairs with some of my girl friends and listened to music and it made me feel like I was back in maybe the 70's or something. Does anybody else get that feeling or am I just weird? And what was your favorite decade?

Leather Wrist Band problems I need your help

In 10 days I will be celebrating my 2 year anniversary with my boyfriend, Adam. I bought a set of matching leather wrist bands that I had personalized but there is a slight issue. Mine is too big length wise. It would not be a problem if the wrist bands weren't wide, but they have to be 2 inches wide to fit the whole date on them. So my question for you is how to effectively and quickly shrink the wrist band ( already tried water and the dryer and just letting it sit) or what to use to make it smaller ( like an extra snap) That is easy and effective. It has a set of heavy duty snaps on it which is why it's too big, if it was like a belt or Velcro it would be ok. Any advice my fellow bloggers?

High School

Do you remember when you were younger and couldn't wait to walk in on the first day? Or even now, some of your kids or grand kids are probably in elementary school and telling of exciting tails. Not me. High school. Love it, but hate it. I love the freedom, seeing my friends, some of my classes and teachers. Not really loving getting up before the sun, living 25 minutes from school, or how long the classes are. But love it or not, they say high school is some of the best years of your life. Hmm, i don't know about that one yet, but I'm going to make the best of it. What were the best years of your life?

Today was filled with a little bit of panic. Let me start by filling you in with a little information about the two high schools my town is districted to.There are two high schools that are down the street from each other. Three middle schools are districted to my high school. My middle school however was split in half. One side of my town goes to our rival school with other towns, while my side goes to my high school with some of the same other towns and different ones. Now that we've got that straight, a lot of my friends from middle school attend the rival high school. Today there were students in the halls crying and standing around very serious talking a bout a supposed suicide at the other high school. I did not know if this information was true or just a rumor. Even if I didn't attend the school it still hit me that most of my friends attend that school and are dealing with issues in their lives. I had to stop what I was doing and say a little prayer for all my friends and pray they were safe. Other students were texting but I was not about to get my phone taken away so I had 3 hours to wait to find out what really happened. It turns out that there was a dead body found hanging from the bleachers this morning. It was not a student from the school or even a resident of the town. The body was found and reported by a jogger who runs the track most mornings. Even though I do not attend that school, I still had a mini heart attack being out of the loop and not knowing how my close friends were and right now i'm thanking God that they are okay and praying for the family of the suicide victim. Thank you God for keeping my friends safe.

This is a picture of me and mans best friend, other wise known as Lucky. Who can actually be a devil dog but is usually a good buddy. Lucky is my friend Heathers dog and he'll be five years old in a few months. Her grandmother asked us to write our Christmas lists yesterday and it got me to thinking, what do I really want? Sure I wrote down, Ipod Touch, clothes, etc. But what I really want, What I've always wanted is a dog. And every year my parents say no for some reason. But this year, yet again, I will hope that maybe i've grown more responsible, or something in their hearts has changed, and I will hope that sitting under the tree in three months will be a Finnish Spits, or a Patterdale Terrier, or anything with four legs, a tail, that's alive and barks. If that was the only thing I got I would be happy. But atleast I can always dream. If anyone's reading this, share with me your dog stories.

Every has those family stories where an aunt or uncle did something funny, or where grandma lost her teeth, our family reunions are full of funny moments. The dogs even got involved in the action.We even had the occasional issue with Mr. President hogging dessert but it was solved. No matter how crazy they may be, there's no one like family.

Weekend Memories are the best

What did you do with your weekend? Mine was kind of busy but still great. Friday evening I entered some pictures into a photo contest at the county fair. I didn't win anything but it was still fun and a good experience to enter them. Now, this summer I really wanted to get a job to make some money. I was tired of wanting to go places with friends and my parents say well do YOU have money because we're not paying. However, dude the amount of vacations this summer it wasn't a great idea. So my parents gave me a job. I do tasks around the house and the amount of money I make depends on which jobs I did during the week. My dad told me I had a chance to make some money Saturday by taking brick pavers up our hill. There were about 25 of them and they were heavy.. >:( I got the job done though. Recently our neighbor Mr.Dan fixed our lawnmower. His son had been mowing our grass for about 8 years now but doesn't always have the time. So i decided to do it. If any of you have been on my moms blog you know that we have a big hill in the back. It was very difficult.. :( I got that done too though, but my hands are hurting from it today. Now Sunday was a day of fun. We went to Mclean in Virginia for church, and then to the cheesecake factory for lunch. I have a Godiva chocolate cheesecake in the fridge right now calling my name. Then that evening we went to the fair. My boyfriend Adam came with us and I had a great time. My parents actually let us walk around alone for once, all though knowing them I'm sure we were being closely trailed. We looked at the exhibit halls and the cows and Llamas. We ate some deep fried oreos, I swear if you have never had one, you must. We had fries and lemonade, and we walked. One of our favorite things to do is watch the people on the drop ride. It is similar to the tower of terror in Disney but it only drops once. It is always very entertaining to see the looks on the peoples face as they're plummeting towards the earth. After that my boyfriend spent some time playing a beanbag toss game. He has long arms and the guy didn't make him stand farther back so he was pretty good at it. He won be a colorful dog which I have creatively named Puppy :D. How was your weekend? Did you do anything fun?

So i've been MIA for the past couple weeks. I haven't forgotten about you all, I've just been on summer vacation :) My best friend took me to her grandmas with her and I was deprived of internet. We were quite busy anyway. We went to the beach, Ocean city, and to her aunts to swim. We went to a small old victorian town, and just tried to relax. What have you done so far this summer? And do you have any other plans? I can't wait til our Canada trip :D

Last night I went to see Avatar the last Airbender in 3D. I had seen in but not in 3D. I liked the movie both times but personally I thought it was better not in 3D. There were no real special features. If the movie was made for 3D I feel it would have been better if it had stuff jumping out at you etc. I also found that it was hard to see the characters due to the 3D. So in my opinion the 3D should be saved for a movie that it was really made for. I definitely recommend seeing this movie, but don't spend the extra money for 3D.

This is my baby cousin Critter. Ok, so he's not so much of a baby now, but in my eyes he'll always be my baby cousin. One of his favorite summer activities is to come over to auntie e's and have fun with auntie and cousin Lyd. So for the fourth of July he came over and had some fun in the pool. In a couple weeks he might come up for some more fun. So I need to be prepared with activities for the little monster. He's 6 and has a boat load of energy. So my question is what good ideas do you have to entertain a 6 year old around the house and on vacation in the car?

It was an amazing movie!! I used to watch the cartoons and thought they were ok, so I was kind of iffy about seeing it in theatres, but i'm glad I did. One of my favorite actors is Jackson Rathbone and he did a good job in this movie. I also thought they did a great job making the characters look like the ones in the cartoon. The theater we go to is a small theater that we can get to in about 5 minutes through back roads through the woods. We can usually get in for free because we have movie passes, however they have been giving us problems with the passes lately. We're supposed to get 2 tickets for one pass. The theater is not the company which the passes are but they had been giving people with these passes the 2 tickets anyway. Well lately they have been giving people problems such as those are only for certain movies, or I can only give you one. The theater also has not been doing movies in 3D and I really wish to see avatar in 3D. So today I am having my boyfriend, Adam, over for some swimming and icecream. Then my family will be trekking out to the expensive theater by the mall to see Avatar 3D. I'll let you know how it goes.

Swimming!! It's been up to 105 degrees here lately. Lots of power outages, broken AC's but our pool is up and running! We got some new toys and a new ladder, it's a nice place to relax in the afternoon when the temps are really up there. What's your favorite thing to do in the summer ?

Yesterday was very busy. We had family over and spent some time in the pool. We had kebabs for lunch and lots of treats. We made cookies and peanutbutter bars, we also made Fudge pops. After that I had a friend over and my family and me and my friend went to the military base for a carnival and some fireworks. The kids loved it and the fireworks were amazing. That's the advantage of going to a military base, they love to blow things up. What did you do for the fourth?

Summer 2009, wish I was there

So in 2009 my parents and I flew across the country. Our first stop was Colorado, it was cool, about 70 degrees most of the time, maybe 80. I had some trouble with the altitude but it was still pretty amazing. We got to working mines, and visit with my parents old army friend. We also got to go white water rafting for the first time ever. That is definitely something I will have to do this summer. We saw beautiful mountains and old towns, Colorado was perfect. Then from Colorado it was off to Vegas. That was pretty awesome too. My favorite thing about Vegas was that no matter where you go there's always something different and interesting to look at or do. There is a reenactment of a volcano, there are amazing fountains, there's a big replica of the Eiffel Tower that you can go up in. There two hotels that have a mall portion made to look like Venice (The venetian is my favorite, it even has 2 canals you can take a gondola ride in) and much much more. I would definitely love to be in Vegas right now, it's definitely not just casinos. Now after Vegas we picked up my grandpa and drove to Williams Arizona. Williams is a small town about an hour away from the Grand Canyon. We have friends who own a bed and breakfast there so it was a nice place to stay. They have a main street with lots of neat shops and a train that you can ride to the grand canyon. The Canyon is also amazing, I can't even describe it, I guess you'll just have to see for yourself. After our week in Arizona, we dropped Grandpa off at the Airport and then drove on to California. I love California, the temperature was in the mid 80's which is nice compared to the weather here and in Vegas. The ocean water was cold though, it was my first time swimming in the Pacific Ocean. If I can do that I can get in the pool today :) Now, I had been to Disney World a few times, but never Disney Land so off we went. It's much smaller than Disney World but it was still very interesting and lots more fun. Now the last place we went , my best friend is there now. We flew to Minnesota, for a shopping spree at the Mall of America. It was a nice end to a thrilling trip, it gave us time to relax. The mall has a theme park and an aquarium, all inside, so it's nice for rainy days. We also found a new favorite restaurant called Bubba Gump Shrimp Co. I recommend finding one near you, it's great. After that, it was home. We've taken some small trips then, but nothing that big. The whole time we were gone I wanted to be home with my friends, but now that i'm here this summer, I wanna be gone again. Can't wait til Canada in August. What has your summer been like so far? Mines been relaxing (boring as I like to say, but I prefer not to put any money in the boring money jar therefore, mom you never saw that.) I've also done a lot of fun stuff, I've had sleepovers with my best friend, rode a sled down a tarp on a hill, and taken some trips. Also a a side note, what do you do to cool off? So, it's June 21st, and you're thinking running through the sprinkler, swimming, going to the beach. But no. I am stuck in school til wednesday because my county is the only county who decided to extend their days due to the huge blizzard. It's finals week and the power was out so I definitely passed the ones today because the teachers gave us the answers. Wish me luck, it's almost summer!!

So the other day I received an email from my aunt. It was a cool little recipe about making a 5 minute cake in a coffee cup. So, being a choco-holic I decided to try it. I think it tastes amazing, so here's the recipe, try it and let me know what you think.

5 MINUTE CHOCOLATE MUG CAKE

4 tablespoons flour

4 tablespoons sugar

2 tablespoons cocoa

1 egg

3 tablespoons milk

3 tablespoons oil

3 tablespoons chocolate chips (optional)

A small splash of vanilla extract

1 large coffee mug (MicroSafe)

Add dry ingredients to mug, and mix well. Add the egg and mix thoroughly.

Pour in the milk and oil and mix well..

Add the chocolate chips (if using) and vanilla extract, and mix again.

Put your mug in the microwave and cook for 3 minutes at 1000 watts.

The cake will rise over the top of the mug, but don't be alarmed!

Allow to cool a little, and tip out onto a plate if desired.

EAT ! (this can serve 2 if you want to feel slightly more virtuous).

Busy Weekend

Due to all my school work, I tend to not be allowed to do very much during the week, so my weekends get pretty filled up. Friday night my dad took me driving at my old middle schools parking lot, then we went to get ice cream. Saturday I had to get blood drawn, and then my mom and I went to get groceries for today's cookout. On the way home she took me driving in her car for the first time. I did surprisingly well :) After that I went to the mall with my parents for summer clothes, and then we picked up my boyfriend Adam. We hung out for a while and then went to see Shrek Forever After. It's a very good movie, very funny. Sunday, we went to our church in virginia and then saw alex and critter. I also made cookies for todays cookout :) HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY!

Well, it's that time of year again. Graduation. I am only a sophomore, but one of my best friends Stephen is a senior. He was my first friend at my high school and I admit, schools gonna be so weird without him around. He's weird and strange, but it was the familiar sight of him and my friends every morning that helped me through my freshmen year. To me he will always be Felix. We took german 1 together last year and that was his german name. Oh and he hates pictures so I don't have much. But that's my best asian/german/weirdo. I'm glad he's moving on, but these next 2 years are gonna be weird not seeing him every day. Congratulations Felix, I'm gonna miss you so much.

I've had a very busy week so far. Last Friday I had a chance to see the shuttle launch in Florida. It was amazing. I got to watch it from Cocoa beach. We also went to Sea World and Downtown Disney. It was a great weekend. We flew home Sunday because I have exams this week. My school has to take an exam called the HSA. We have to pass 3 this year with a cumulative score to pass the classes we take them in. I also took my learners test this week. I didn't pass the first time, you have to answer 17 questions correct, but I only answered 16 correct. I retook it yesterday and passed. Look out World, here comes Lyd.

Unsung Hero

So, as many of you know, I play the cello. I have been playing for about 7 years. It's a lot of work, and sometimes annoying, but it's worth the satisfaction of successfully playing through a song, or completing a competition or performance. Last night was my schools orchestra and band awards banquet. Everyone received some sort of award. These were our first, second, third, and fourth year awards. There were also a number of students who received special achievements. Surprisingly, I received one of those awards. My school has two orchestras and I happen to be in the lower one. I auditioned last year to be in the upper orchestra but I wasn't good enough. My teacher talked about discouragement and how it's never easy to be told you aren't good enough. HE went on to say how a young lady had auditioned last year and just wasn't good enough, but she didn't let it get to her, she tried harder and improved greatly. That student was me :) I've worked really hard, and it makes me proud to know that my hard work has payed off. :)

Great Mothers Day Weekend

My weekend was busy but extremely fun. Like I posted on Friday, my best friends birthday was on Friday, so of course we had to hang out. We went ice skating with a third friend and I spent the night. Saturday was heathers family party, but in being best friends for 6 years, we're practically sisters so I got to hang around for that. Now yesterday was mothers day, a deserved holiday for all those mothers. We went to church and then went out to lunch at olive garden with critter and his parents and sister. Today is my best friend Heathers sweet 16th :) We've been friends for what feels like forever but is really six years. I'd like to say, if you're a ten year old, and you're rather outgoing and straightforward, don't ask other ten year olds about their fathers. We've had our fights, had our crazy vacations, and just been there for each other. Sometimes we bug each other but life really wouldn't be the same without her. Sorry I haven't posted this week. I've been busy with school and other stuff. I'm not really sure what to write about. The weekend was okay. Friday, hmm I can't really remember what I did Friday. Oh wait, I went out to dinner with my mom and dad. My mom broke her arm and is currently sporting a bright pink cast, so I'll be helping out with cooking and laundry and house hold chores this week. Saturday, I had to get blood drawn in the morning and then went to my boyfriend Adams house in the afternoon. We had a picnic on this island by his house. It was nice. In the evening my mom and dad took me shopping for some cute new clothes. Then Sunday we watched church online. I helped out my dad at Home Depot. He needed 24 heavy patio pavers. I sure got my work out. I got lemonade and chinese food as my reward :) I also had to help out with laundry but I don't really mind. All in all it was a great weekend :) Ew, it's monday, only 5 days to go. You can do it!

R.I.P Bingo

Many years ago, almost nine to be exact, my parents took me to the local pet store up the road and asked me which bird I liked most. I looked at all the birds, some climbing the ropes, some chattering to each other, and one hiding off in the corner. The one in the corner was blue and white. I decided proudly that he was my favorite, and a few minutes later my mom came up to me holding a box, that had chirping noises coming from it. We took my new pet home and set up his cage. I decided his name would be Bingo. He was a parakeet. He was my first real pet. I went to sleep that night, and when I woke up the next morning, I walked down stairs for breakfast and a blur of blue and white dive bombed me. My mom screamed and my dad ran towards the blur. My mom had accidentally let Bingo out of his cage and he was free in the house. We eventually got him in his cage. I remember that day like it was yesterday. A few months after that we noticed Bingos beak was cracking and peeling. My mom googled it and took him to the vet. It turned out he had cancer. He went through a series of chemo that would either save him or kill him. He almost died many times throughout it, but in the end he survived. He never truly talked, but he made such sweet noises. He loved to listen to music and my whistling or singing. We never thought he would live long. He ended up living for almost 9 years. Yesterday morning I was home alone and I stopped by his cage to say hi. He chirped and sat on his food dish. He had enough food since I had given him extra the day before. My parents came home and we were about to leave for lunch. My dad said bye to Bingo, but when he looked back he noticed he wasn't visible, so we looked closer. Bingo was laying on his side with his eyes closed on the bottom of his cage. He must have had a heart attack. He seemed sicker later. We burried him in the garden near the fence. He was my first real pet, and the one that out lived them all. I'm going to miss hearing his squawking and chirping. I'm going to miss seeing him in his cage by the window, and hearing his bell. Most of all I'm going to miss him just being around. I know it was just a bird, but I can't really remember life without him around. R.I.P Bingo, I'm always going to miss you being around.

"What kind of nerd steals a calculator?"

So as I posted earlier, my calculator was stolen out of my backpack yesterday at school. We are required to have a TI-83 or TI-84 calculator for school, very expensive models. Well, I had my regular black TI-84 for about three years and it was my lifeline in math. I was rather upset because I had only left my backpack alone for about three minutes to use the bathroom, and suddenly it disappears and the only people around were a few close-ish friends. Well, last night my dad ran right out and bought me a new better version of the calculator so I could take a big math test today, and because I'll need the calculator for the next few years. I put my name in obvious and hidden places so if it gets stolen again I will be able to make sure I know who it is, even though my name was on the other one too. I put the calculator in a more hidden spot in my backpack and went to school this morning. Well, right before german I get called to the office. I trudge in thinking the worst, and the secretary asks if i'm missing something. I ask "My calculator?" and she hands it to me saying someone turned it in this morning. Who steals a calculator from someones backpack and then turns it in to the office. If they had asked to borrow it I most likely would have said yes. Now i'm irritated because my parents had to spend money on something that wasn't really needed. And to top it off we didn't even take the test. Oh well, I guess now I have my good new one for a school and a backup for home. *sigh* I guess this is just a trial in the best years of my life.

Yesterday at school my lifeline for math was stolen. My TI-84 calculator. I have had it for about three years now and it really helps with geometry. I had it in my backpack yesterday and i left it for maybe three minutes. I came back and my calculator was gone. :( This makes me mad, I had plenty of things in my backpack, my calculator, my key, my memory stick, and my cell phone. The only thing that was taken was my calculator. I guess I should be happy that it lasted this long and got stolen instead of dying. It's really irritating though. I've had this calculator since 8th grade and I used it all the time. Then, the day before a huge test, it suddenly gets stolen. >:( It makes me remember a time a few weeks ago when I was at the library. My best friend told me to leave my bag at the table while we went to get something from the vending machine. I told her it was a bad idea because my calculator was in there. Her response? "What kind of nerd steals a calculator?!" Well, apparently the kind that went in my backpack at lunch today. Oh well, I guess i'll have to be more careful next time. Still so angry. Last night, our schools art department had a coffee house, it was called javapalooza. It was really cool. They had an art fight, and performers. My boyfriend, Adam, performed a couple songs last night, so I have some videos for you. It was a good experience and it made some money for the art department. Yay, it's Saturday!
