R.I.P Bingo

Many years ago, almost nine to be exact, my parents took me to the local pet store up the road and asked me which bird I liked most. I looked at all the birds, some climbing the ropes, some chattering to each other, and one hiding off in the corner. The one in the corner was blue and white. I decided proudly that he was my favorite, and a few minutes later my mom came up to me holding a box, that had chirping noises coming from it. We took my new pet home and set up his cage. I decided his name would be Bingo. He was a parakeet. He was my first real pet. I went to sleep that night, and when I woke up the next morning, I walked down stairs for breakfast and a blur of blue and white dive bombed me. My mom screamed and my dad ran towards the blur. My mom had accidentally let Bingo out of his cage and he was free in the house. We eventually got him in his cage. I remember that day like it was yesterday. A few months after that we noticed Bingos beak was cracking and peeling. My mom googled it and took him to the vet. It turned out he had cancer. He went through a series of chemo that would either save him or kill him. He almost died many times throughout it, but in the end he survived. He never truly talked, but he made such sweet noises. He loved to listen to music and my whistling or singing. We never thought he would live long. He ended up living for almost 9 years. Yesterday morning I was home alone and I stopped by his cage to say hi. He chirped and sat on his food dish. He had enough food since I had given him extra the day before. My parents came home and we were about to leave for lunch. My dad said bye to Bingo, but when he looked back he noticed he wasn't visible, so we looked closer. Bingo was laying on his side with his eyes closed on the bottom of his cage. He must have had a heart attack. He seemed sicker later. We burried him in the garden near the fence. He was my first real pet, and the one that out lived them all. I'm going to miss hearing his squawking and chirping. I'm going to miss seeing him in his cage by the window, and hearing his bell. Most of all I'm going to miss him just being around. I know it was just a bird, but I can't really remember life without him around. R.I.P Bingo, I'm always going to miss you being around.

Music for a relaxing-ish saturday

These are some videos of me playing my cello. Sorry for the awkward angle, I only have three hands and my mom won't let me use her tripod. Oh well. It's good enough til I go professional :D
I know I make some mistakes but i'm still learning and improving. Any comments or critique would we appreciated. Have a great weekend

"What kind of nerd steals a calculator?"

So as I posted earlier, my calculator was stolen out of my backpack yesterday at school. We are required to have a TI-83 or TI-84 calculator for school, very expensive models. Well, I had my regular black TI-84 for about three years and it was my lifeline in math. I was rather upset because I had only left my backpack alone for about three minutes to use the bathroom, and suddenly it disappears and the only people around were a few close-ish friends. Well, last night my dad ran right out and bought me a new better version of the calculator so I could take a big math test today, and because I'll need the calculator for the next few years. I put my name in obvious and hidden places so if it gets stolen again I will be able to make sure I know who it is, even though my name was on the other one too. I put the calculator in a more hidden spot in my backpack and went to school this morning. Well, right before german I get called to the office. I trudge in thinking the worst, and the secretary asks if i'm missing something. I ask "My calculator?" and she hands it to me saying someone turned it in this morning. Who steals a calculator from someones backpack and then turns it in to the office. If they had asked to borrow it I most likely would have said yes. Now i'm irritated because my parents had to spend money on something that wasn't really needed. And to top it off we didn't even take the test. Oh well, I guess now I have my good new one for a school and a backup for home. *sigh* I guess this is just a trial in the best years of my life.

So angry

Yesterday at school my lifeline for math was stolen. My TI-84 calculator. I have had it for about three years now and it really helps with geometry. I had it in my backpack yesterday and i left it for maybe three minutes. I came back and my calculator was gone. :( This makes me mad, I had plenty of things in my backpack, my calculator, my key, my memory stick, and my cell phone. The only thing that was taken was my calculator. I guess I should be happy that it lasted this long and got stolen instead of dying. It's really irritating though. I've had this calculator since 8th grade and I used it all the time. Then, the day before a huge test, it suddenly gets stolen. >:( It makes me remember a time a few weeks ago when I was at the library. My best friend told me to leave my bag at the table while we went to get something from the vending machine. I told her it was a bad idea because my calculator was in there. Her response? "What kind of nerd steals a calculator?!" Well, apparently the kind that went in my backpack at lunch today. Oh well, I guess i'll have to be more careful next time. Still so angry. What do you think?

Last night, our schools art department had a coffee house, it was called javapalooza. It was really cool. They had an art fight, and performers. My boyfriend, Adam, performed a couple songs last night, so I have some videos for you. It was a good experience and it made some money for the art department. Yay, it's Saturday!

Busy but fun filled spring break

So as most of you know, my spring break was last week. It was busier than I had planned but it was still lots of fun. On good Friday I headed to my grandpas to spend some time with him. We went to my favorite restaurants, the Texas Roadhouse and of course Cracker Barrel. We also had a nice brunch by the beach for Easter. I went to the beach a couple times and the aquarium. We came back to Maryland last Wednesday and Thursday we took a trip the much larger National Aquarium of Baltimore. They have a great new exhibit called Jellies Invasion. This features a few different types of Jelly Fish. They have an awesome dolphin show and some great walk through exhibits. It's definitely a place to visit. Saturday, we took a trip down to Washington DC. We watched the Cherry Blossom Festival parade and went to a street Festival. My personal favorite part was watching my cousin Alex perform. Alex is Critters older sister. She is 8 and she is a black belt. Critter just got his white belt. They live Hapmudo. Their parents are great people who own and run the YSL Hapmudo studio. It's really neat to watch them perform. They broke boards, jumped over mats and much more. Monday it was back to school. yuck. I was reminded how much I hate math.. Well, at least it's Wednesday! Happy Wednesday! Have a great day!

So, one of my favorite things to do when I have free time is edit pictures. My mom has a premium membership for a program called picnik. I love to use it. It has great features and it's very simple. You can use neat effects, add text, and much more. These are some pictures I have edited. Let me know if you like them. Happy Tuesday! Only 4 days to go.

Sorry i'm so late. Easter fun

Hey everyone! I'm sorry this post is so late. I forgot my USB cable when I went on vacation. Last Friday my mom dad and I piled in the car and headed down to Virginia beach to visit my grandpa. There were some fun parts to the trip. We arrived around 9 on Friday night so we didn't do much that day. It took us 8 hours to get to his house instead of the normal 4. Saturday we spent some time around the house, then headed to kohls for some bargain shopping :) Everyone loves a good sale. We ate lunch at one of my favorite restaurants and got an edible arrangement.I also managed to die some Easter Eggs. There's the five year old in me. Sunday was Easter, so we went to church with my grandpa and then down to the beach. We ate at a huge buffet at the Hilton. Normally I have something against that hotel just because of Paris Hilton, but I won't lie. This set up was great. They had everything. After our huge lunch we walked down to the beach for some pictures. We also visited my great grandmother. She's in her 90's but she's always good for an entertaining story. I've got some pictures of her cat Tagger. Monday was another day around my grandpas house for me, getting some sun. Then Tuesday we headed to the aquarium. I don't have pictures of this, I forgot my camera but i'm sure if you have checked out my moms blog you'll see some posted soon. Then today we drove home. How was your Easter and your week? Happy Thursday. Come on guys hang in there, it's almost Friday!

If you get there before I do

This song means a lot to me. My grandparents would have been married 60 years this summer. Unfortunately my grandmother passed away a little over two years ago. They were married very young, right out of high school. They had their problems but they loved each other very much. This song makes me think of my grandparents. The only time I saw my grandpa cry was at the funeral. And I can imagine him saying this. She's in heaven before him but they'll be together again one day. Does this song bring back any memories? What do you think of it?

So today happens to be my 18 month anniversary with my boyfriend Adam. And yes, when you're only 16 it's a big deal. I'm a sophomore in high school and we have been together almost since the beginning of our freshman year. We have so much in common it's scary. We've been through a lot together and I know I can always count on him. So, Happy Anniversary Adam!

International Night

Last night my high school hosted international night. It was amazing. They had people from all different cultures set up tables with food and music and posters. Lots of people wore their cultural clothes and everything. I am taking german, and my parents lived in Germany for a few years, so I attended and helped a little with the german table. I made Schwarzwalder Kirschtorte, other wise known as black forest cherry cake, with a little help from my mom. I also made authentic Spatzle. The cake disappeared rather quickly, I got to have a taste first though and it was really good. (I swear i'm not just saying that) I got to try lots of different food, perform a german dance for people, watch 2 martial arts groups, and hang out with my friends. It was a really great time. :)Happy Thursday! It's the last day of school before spring break for me! HAPPY SPRING!
