This song means a lot to me. My grandparents would have been married 60 years this summer. Unfortunately my grandmother passed away a little over two years ago. They were married very young, right out of high school. They had their problems but they loved each other very much. This song makes me think of my grandparents. The only time I saw my grandpa cry was at the funeral. And I can imagine him saying this. She's in heaven before him but they'll be together again one day. Does this song bring back any memories? What do you think of it?
My maternal grandmother died when I was 27. She had lost her battle with dementia. Grandpa Fred was devastated. What followed was for him very difficult and sad to see. Almost three years to the day later, he followed her.
